What F2 Means
F2 shows up when the DishDrawer's wash motor fails to turn during the wash phase — the control board is watching for rotation it never detects, and without that confirmation the cycle can't move forward normally.
Common Causes of F2
- The wash motor physically jammed or seized
- Motor drive electronics or the Hall-effect rotation sensor has failed
- Worn rotor bearings keeping the motor from spinning freely
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Cut power at the breaker for a couple of minutes and try again, which rules out a one-off glitch — beyond that, inspecting the motor itself isn't something to attempt without pulling the drawer from its housing, so leave that part to a technician.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Sitting just under the wet tub floor and wired into a live circuit, the wash motor is a genuine shock hazard to reach unless the unit is fully de-energized first.
- Because the rotation sensor and the motor's driver electronics share the same wiring run, bumping the wrong connector while inspecting one can create a second, unrelated fault.
- Trying to free a jammed coupling by hand risks shearing it outright, which converts what could've been a simple clean-out into a full motor swap.
- Since a bad sensor and a bad motor can present almost identically, guessing wrong means paying to replace a part that was never actually at fault.
- Motor access means pulling the drawer entirely out of its cabinet housing, one of the surer ways to forfeit remaining warranty coverage.
