What F7 Means
F7 signals a communications time-out — either the motor's microcontroller has stopped responding, the link between boards has broken, or something external is holding the data line low, and in any of those cases the boards lose the ability to talk to one another properly.
Common Causes of F7
- The motor's microcontroller locking up or crashing
- A loose or damaged wiring harness running between the control boards
- Some external component pinning the communication line in a fixed state

Cut power at the breaker for two minutes and restart — if F7 comes right back on the next cycle, that confirms an actual fault rather than a momentary drop in communication.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- This fault can start at either end of the link, so swapping a part on a hunch is a common, expensive way to get it wrong.
- Inside the console, the harness linking the boards often runs right alongside line-voltage supply wiring.
- Reseat a connector even a little off and the fault can seem to disappear, only to come back once the drawer returns to normal cycling.
- Tracking this down correctly means continuity-testing the whole harness with the unit completely de-energized.
- Opening the console housing to chase this wiring is one of the more typical ways owners end up forfeiting the warranty.
