What A62 Means
A62 is raised on DW60 machines in the FC6 configuration when the water in the tub exceeds 80 degrees Celsius. F&P's checks cover what the actual temperature was when the alert appeared, the turbidity sensor and its harness, the wash pump and its integrated heating element, and the mainboard connections.
Common Causes of A62
- A heating circuit that has stayed on past its intended point
- A temperature reading taken from a failing sensor
- A household hot water supply arriving well above normal dishwashing temperature
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Give the machine time to cool before the door is opened, then check how hot your household hot supply runs; a water heater set high can push a dishwasher past this threshold without anything inside the machine being wrong.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Wait for the tub to cool before the door is opened, because water above 80 degrees is hot enough to scald on contact and the steam that escapes is worse.
- On these machines the element is integrated into the wash pump, so what looks like an element job is really a pump assembly job with a different price.
- A supply running too hot and a control problem look identical from the front panel, and fixing the wrong one leaves the machine still overheating.
- The heating circuit enters the tub through sealed grommets, and once disturbed those are where the machine tends to start weeping.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
