Fisher & Paykel Dishwasher AD0 Alert (DW60 Series Door Incongruence)

What AD0 Means

AD0 is described in F&P's table as door incongruence: the signal the controller receives about the door's state does not match what it expects. The listed checks are the harness connection first, and replacement of the controller after that.

Common Causes of AD0

  • The door not fully latched when the cycle was started
  • A harness connection lost between door switch and controller
  • A door switch that has failed or fallen out of adjustment

🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try

Close the door firmly and start a cycle again - a door that has not quite latched will produce this, and so will a basket rail or a tall item resting against the inside of the door.

⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That

  • Isolate the machine at the breaker before the door panel or its harness is opened, because the lock circuit is fed from the mains side of the controller.
  • The door switch is what stops the machine spraying while the door is open, so it is not a part to bypass in order to get a cycle running.
  • Door panels are shimmed to set the latch engagement, and one refitted without those shims never latches consistently again.
  • A controller changed for what turns out to be a loose plug is the expensive end of this problem.

Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.

FAQ

AD0 FAQ

Yes. The controller is reacting to an electrical signal, not to how the door looks, so a latch that is not quite home or a switch out of adjustment produces the same alert.

Better not. Repeated restarts hide a real switch problem, and that switch is a safety device rather than a convenience.
