What EC2 Means
EC2 reports an inconsistency in the PWM signals driving the DW60's brushless wash motor. Those pulses are how the board controls motor speed, so an inconsistency means the commands going out and the behavior coming back no longer agree. The documented checks are the motor harness and then the main board.
Common Causes of EC2
- A problem in the motor control stage of the main board
- Harness damage distorting the drive signals
- A motor whose feedback no longer matches the commands sent to it
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
A single power-down at the breaker is worth doing. Beyond that there is no owner-level test of a motor drive signal, and the code does not respond to anything you can reach from the front of the machine.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Isolate at the breaker before opening the control area, since the motor drive stage sits at mains potential.
- Signal-level problems cannot be found by looking; they need the machine put into a service test with instruments on the harness.
- Guessing between board and motor on this platform is expensive, because the wash motor is integrated with the pump assembly.
- Connectors here are fine-pitch and easily bent, and a pin pushed back in its housing gives an intermittent problem that is far harder to find than the original.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
