What EC6 Means
EC6 is raised when the machine's own resistance measurement of the brushless wash motor fails to complete. Unusually among the EC family, the manual gives a single remedy for this one: replace the main board - which points at the measuring circuit rather than the motor.
Common Causes of EC6
- A failure in the main board's measurement circuit
- Corrupted measurement data during a self-test
- A board damaged by an earlier motor-circuit problem
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
There is nothing to check here beyond a single power-down at the breaker, which rules out a one-off. The measurement this code refers to happens inside the board and is not exposed to the user.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Isolate the machine at the breaker before the controller housing is opened, and allow time for the board to discharge before it is handled.
- The board is the documented remedy, but fitting one without checking whether a motor problem damaged it invites a repeat.
- Control boards on this platform are matched to model and configuration, so ordering from a photograph rather than a model reference goes wrong often.
- The controller housing seals against splashes at the front of the machine, and one reassembled without that seal lets the next spill reach the new board.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
