What 37 Means
Fault 37 means that while draining, the water level read from the pressure sensor did not change for more than three minutes. F&P lists four routes to it: a kinked or squashed drain hose reducing pump output, a partial or complete pump blockage, the pump not running at all because of the module, wiring or pump itself, or a diverter valve problem.
Common Causes of 37
- A kinked, squashed, or over-long drain hose
- A partial or complete blockage in the pump
- A pump that is not running because of a wiring, pump, or module problem
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Unplug the machine and follow the drain hose along its whole run, looking for a kink or a crushed section behind the cabinet. F&P also limits the extension to one meter, so a long add-on run is worth measuring.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Unplug the machine before the pump is opened, and expect the drum to still be full, because a drain problem means the water never left.
- F&P's own procedure for a bowl still holding water is to remove the deck and inner bowl and bail it out from the top, which is a strip-down rather than a quick look.
- A pump that will not turn and a pump blocked by debris need different fixes, and only opening it with the right expectation tells you which.
- Pump housings seal on a gasket that does not reseat reliably once disturbed, which is how a repaired washer starts weeping underneath.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
