What Fault 22 Means
Fault 22 reports the door actuator circuit as open - the module commanded movement and no current flowed at all. That distinguishes it from a stall, where current flows but the mechanism will not move.
Common Causes of Fault 22
- An open circuit actuator winding
- A break in the actuator harness
- A connector off at the actuator or the sensor module
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
A two-minute reset at the breaker is worth one attempt. Note whether the door does anything at all when a cycle is started, since complete stillness fits an open circuit.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Isolate the dryer at the breaker before the actuator wiring is reached, as it runs with mains wiring inside the cabinet.
- An open circuit is not visible, so a connector that looks fine can still be the problem - continuity has to be measured.
- Replacing an actuator when the harness had failed is a common and avoidable expense on this platform.
- The actuator harness flexes with the door, so a break tends to be at a specific point that only careful testing finds.
