What Fault 10 Means
Fault 10 is a 24 volt supply measurement error: the sensor module has measured low voltage on the actuator power supply. That rail is what drives the powered lid and door hardware, so a weak supply there shows up as actuator problems elsewhere. F&P names sensor module replacement as the remedy.
Common Causes of Fault 10
- A failed low-voltage supply stage on the sensor module
- An actuator loading the supply rail beyond its rating
- A wiring problem dragging the actuator supply down
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
One breaker reset of two minutes is worth trying. If the dryer has also been throwing door or lid actuator codes, mention them together - they are very likely the same underlying supply problem.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Switch off at the breaker before any module is reached, because the sensor module derives its low-voltage rail from the mains supply.
- Replacing an actuator when the rail feeding it was low is a repair that cures nothing.
- A rail dragged down by a failing actuator will do the same to a new module, so the load has to be checked too.
- Fisher & Paykel has left the US laundry market, so a sensor module needs matching by exact reference rather than by appearance.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
