What Fault 29 Means
Fault 29 is a brown-out data retrieval error - data was lost or could not be read because the supply voltage dipped rather than failing outright. F&P adds a useful diagnostic split: if the problem occurs repeatedly at startup, replace the sensor module; otherwise replace the motor control module.
Common Causes of Fault 29
- A supply voltage dip during a data operation
- A sensor module failing on every start-up
- A motor control module unable to retain data reliably
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Switch off at the breaker for a minute and restore power. Then note carefully whether the problem appears every single time the dryer is started, because that pattern is what F&P uses to decide which module is to blame.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Isolate the dryer at the breaker before any module is reached, as both sit on mains-fed circuits.
- F&P distinguishes between a problem that repeats at every startup and one that does not, and ignoring that distinction sends the wrong module out.
- Repeated brown-outs damage electronics over time, so the household supply is worth checking before a module is fitted.
- The manual names two different parts for two different patterns, which makes careful observation worth more than a quick guess.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
