What Er37 Means
Er37 means the control board's own self-check found a mismatch between the readback signal — confirming which key, zone, or relay actually fired — and what the board intended to activate, so it can't verify it switched on the right function.
Common Causes of Er37
- Relay or zone-select circuitry on the control board has failed
- A firmware problem causing the board to misread its own internal signal
- A damaged control board
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Cycle power at the breaker for two minutes before assuming a hardware problem — that rules out a temporary glitch first.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Since this is an internal, board-level self-check problem, guessing at a part to swap without proper diagnostics is a common and costly mistake.
- Safely testing this circuit means the cooktop has to be completely de-energized first.
- Replace the board when the real issue was just a passing firmware glitch and you've wasted both the part and the labor.
- The board is fixed to the underside of the glass on adhesive pads, and prying it free to inspect it is the usual way the top gets cracked from beneath.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
