What A60 Means
A60 is the DW60 series heating alert: the machine entered its heating stage and no rise in water temperature was detected. F&P's checks run from the thermal fuse on the element, through the element's own resistance and the harness connections, to the controller.
Common Causes of A60
- The thermal fuse on the element has opened
- A heating element that has gone open circuit
- A harness connection lost between element and controller
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Nothing here is an owner test, but the sign is worth confirming: if plates are coming out cool and greasy rather than hot and clean, that supports the code and is useful to report.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The machine has to be off at the breaker before the element circuit is touched, because those terminals sit at mains voltage inside a wet cabinet.
- A thermal fuse opens for a reason, and fitting a new one without finding what overheated simply arms the same failure again.
- Element terminals corrode in hard-water areas and crumble as they are removed, turning a part swap into a harness repair.
- Element and controller problems present identically as an absence of heat, so measuring rather than guessing is what keeps the bill down.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
