What U1 Means
U1 means the drawer isn't filling with water correctly — either too slowly or not at all — which the controller flags as a fill problem distinct from a full water-supply shutoff.
Common Causes of U1
- Water supply valve partially closed or the hose kinked
- A clogged inlet filter screen restricting flow
- A failing inlet valve solenoid
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Confirm the water supply valve behind the unit is fully open and the inlet hose isn't kinked; a partially closed valve is a common, harmless cause.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Confirming whether the problem is the valve, the screen, or low home water pressure takes a proper flow-rate check most owners can't do reliably.
- Replacing the inlet valve assembly without confirming it's actually the failed part is a common, avoidable expense.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
