What Fault 23 Means
Fault 23 is recorded when the door actuator started moving and the movement was interrupted because the voltage available to it fell too low. That places the problem in the supply rather than in the mechanism, which is why it sits alongside the 24 volt supply measurement error in the same family.
Common Causes of Fault 23
- A low or unstable 24 volt actuator supply
- A supply stage on the sensor module unable to hold voltage under load
- An actuator drawing more current than the rail can deliver
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Reset at the breaker once, and note whether the household supply has been unstable - a dryer sharing a circuit with something drawing heavily can see its low-voltage rail sag.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Switch off at the breaker before the module or actuator wiring is investigated, since the low-voltage rail is derived from the mains supply.
- A rail that sags under load tests fine at rest, so measuring it correctly means loading it while measuring.
- Replacing the actuator when the supply was the problem leaves the new one facing the same shortfall.
- Household supply problems can affect other appliances too, which is worth establishing before the dryer is stripped down.
