What F2 14 Means
F2 14 is the code for a cavity that is not heating - the sensor has seen no change in temperature after more than ten minutes on Bake. F&P asks for the customer's circumstances first, then the thermal limiters, then a test of the heating elements in technician mode, with the power board last.
Common Causes of F2 14
- A thermal limiter that has opened
- A heating element that has gone open circuit
- Loss of one supply leg to the oven, or a power board switching problem
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Confirm the obvious before booking: that the oven was genuinely set to Bake, that no delay start or timer was running, and that the household breaker for the oven has not partly tripped. Ovens on two-pole supplies can lose one leg and still light the display.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Isolate the oven at the breaker before any element or limiter is inspected, because those terminals sit at full supply voltage.
- A thermal limiter opens for a reason, and resetting or replacing one without finding what overheated arms the same event again.
- Element terminals become brittle with age and break as they are disconnected, so what looks like a five-minute test becomes a wiring repair.
- F&P puts the power board last in the sequence deliberately; fitting one first is the most expensive way to discover it was an element.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
