What 24 Means
Fault 24 means the motor control module has found that the dispensing type has not been set. AquaSmart machines can be configured for different dispensing arrangements, and until that choice is stored the module will not run a cycle. F&P's remedy is to set it through the control panel, with different sequences for the LED and LCD versions.
Common Causes of 24
- A replacement module fitted without its dispensing type configured
- A configuration lost after a memory problem
- The setting never completed during an earlier service visit
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
This is a configuration step rather than a repair, and it is one a technician can complete in minutes. If the machine has recently had a module fitted, mention that - it is almost always the trigger.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Isolate the machine before any panel comes off, although in most cases nothing needs opening at all for this particular problem.
- The setting sequence differs between the LED and LCD versions of the machine, and running the wrong one changes something else instead.
- Choosing the wrong dispensing type leaves detergent and softener going in at the wrong points of the cycle for every wash afterwards.
- Guessing at button combinations to find the mode can put the machine into an option adjustment state you then have to back out of correctly.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
