What 39 Means
Fault 39 means the module has detected a problem with the pressure tube - the small air tube running from the bottom of the tub to the pressure sensor, which is how the machine knows how much water it is holding. F&P asks that the tube be checked for blockage with water or dirt, for kinks, and for a secure attachment before the module is replaced.
Common Causes of 39
- Water or detergent residue blocking the tube
- A kinked or trapped tube behind the cabinet
- The tube pushed off its spigot at either end
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
With the machine unplugged, trace the thin tube from the base of the tub and make sure it is pushed fully onto both spigots and is not kinked or trapped behind anything. That is a genuine owner-level check on this problem.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Unplug the washer before reaching behind the tub, because the module the tube connects to carries the mains supply.
- Blowing the tube clear sounds harmless but can push the blockage into the sensor port, which is a far more awkward place to clear it from.
- A tube that looks connected can still be split near the spigot, which only shows when it is removed and inspected properly.
- On this platform the transducer lives inside the motor control module, so a misdiagnosis here means replacing the most expensive part in the machine.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
