What 69 Means
Fault 69 concerns the transducer's zero point - the reading it gives with an empty tub, against which every subsequent measurement is compared. This code says that baseline has come in too low, and F&P records the transducer as failing or damaged with replacement as the action.
Common Causes of 69
- A transducer whose zero reference has drifted low
- Residual water in the tub when the baseline was taken
- Damage to the transducer from an earlier over-pressure event
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Make sure the machine has actually drained before assuming the sensor has failed; a tub still holding water when the zero is taken will skew the baseline without anything being broken.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Unplug the machine before the sensing circuit is investigated, as the transducer shares its mounting with the mains-fed module.
- A zero taken while the tub was not empty is a procedural problem rather than a part failure, and replacing the sensor will not change it.
- The transducer and the module are closely bound on this platform, so establishing which has failed is what keeps the repair proportionate.
- Disturbing the pressure tube while chasing this can introduce a blockage that produces a different problem entirely.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
