What F5 Means
F5 flags a communications breakdown between the oven's clock/display module and its power module — the link responsible for showing your settings on the display and carrying your commands through to the heating circuit.
Common Causes of F5
- A loose or damaged harness between the clock module and power module
- A connector failure at either end
- A firmware glitch triggered by a power interruption

Cycle power at the breaker for two minutes before assuming a hardware problem — that rules out a momentary communication drop first.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The problem might sit at either module, so replacing one on a guess is a common way to spend money on the wrong part.
- The cable running between the two modules often shares space near line-voltage supply wiring.
- Reseat a connector even a bit off and it can seem fine at first, only to fail again once regular use resumes.
- Chasing this down properly means continuity-testing the harness with the oven fully de-energized.
- The harness runs in a channel that keeps it clear of the cavity, and once it is pulled out of that channel it lies against hot metal and the insulation melts through.
