What AE0 Means
AE0 is the diverter alert. F&P's DW60 sends water to the upper or the lower spray arm through a motorised diverter, and this code is raised when the diverter cannot reach the position it was told to within 30 seconds. The checks run from spray arm operation in service mode to the harness between diverter and mainboard.
Common Causes of AE0
- A diverter valve that has stuck or failed to move
- A harness problem between the diverter and the mainboard
- Debris jammed in the diverter mechanism
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Spin both spray arms by hand and make sure each turns freely, then check nothing tall is fouling the upper arm. A blocked arm will not cause this on its own, but it is quick to rule out before booking.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Switch the machine off at the breaker before the sump or diverter area is opened, since the wash motor and heater sit in the same compartment.
- The diverter lives in the water path, so anything taken apart there has to go back with its seals correct or the machine leaks internally.
- A stuck diverter and a broken harness both time out the same way, and only a service-mode test separates them.
- Turning the diverter by hand to free it can shear the drive coupling, which turns a clean-out into a new valve.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
