What F1 02 Means
F1 02 is an unknown model ID error seen from the clock board: the power board is declaring which model this oven is, and the clock board does not recognize that identifier. F&P's remedy is a clock board carrying newer software, with the model ID then verified in technician mode.
Common Causes of F1 02
- A replacement clock board with software older than the model requires
- A model ID set incorrectly on the power board
- Boards mixed between two different oven models
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Nothing an owner can set. What is worth knowing is that this code most often appears straight after a board has been replaced, so if the oven has recently been worked on, say so when you book.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The oven has to be dead at the breaker before either board is disturbed, because both sit on the mains side of the appliance.
- Technician mode is where the model ID is confirmed, and reaching it needs the documented sequence rather than trial and error on the front panel.
- A model ID set wrong makes the oven run someone else's heating profile, which is a worse outcome than the problem it replaced.
- Boards for this generation are software-dated rather than simply part-numbered, so ordering by appearance is how the wrong one arrives.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
