What 45 Means
Fault 45 is raised at power-up: the display has compared its own memory against a known reference and found the two do not match. F&P documents a single action for it - replace the display module - which places the problem in the console rather than in the motor drive.
Common Causes of 45
- Corrupted memory on the display module
- A brown-out or surge during power-up
- A failing memory device in the console
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Unplug for five minutes and restore power. A memory check runs at every start-up, so a problem that clears and does not return had a one-off cause.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Take the machine off supply before the console is opened, since the display harness runs alongside the mains feed.
- Display and motor control modules are separate parts on this platform, and replacing the wrong one is an easy mistake when the machine simply will not start.
- The console is sealed against splashes, and a housing reclosed without that seal lets water reach the module that just failed.
- These machines are legacy in the United States, so a display module has to be matched by exact reference rather than by appearance.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
