What 32 (SmartDrive) Means
Fault 32 records the display module detecting the pump as on when it should be off. The interesting part is where F&P sends the technician: the primary problem source listed is the water valve connection, and the action is to verify that both valves are connected properly - so a valve wiring problem can present as a pump reading.
Common Causes of 32 (SmartDrive)
- A water valve connector not properly fitted
- Cross-wiring or a misplaced connector in the valve loom
- A display module misreading the pump circuit
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Turn both taps off and unplug the machine, then check both inlet valve connectors are fully seated. It is not where most people would look for a pump problem, but it is where the manual looks first.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Close both taps and unplug the machine before the valve connections are touched, because these are mains solenoids on pressurised water fittings.
- The documented first check is the valve connection rather than the pump, so starting at the pump is starting in the wrong place.
- Valve connectors on this platform look alike, and one refitted to the wrong valve produces a problem that reads as something else entirely.
- Inlet hose washers harden with age, and a joint re-made on a tired washer weeps behind the machine where it is not noticed.
