What 133 (SmartDrive) Means
Fault 133 is the escalation of error 132. F&P describes it as a more severe occurrence with identical problem sources and an identical service procedure - so the diagnosis does not change, but the machine has now seen excess motor current repeatedly rather than once.
Common Causes of 133 (SmartDrive)
- Water reaching the motor control module
- Corrosion or damage at the stator or rotor position sensor connections
- A motor harness problem producing repeated current spikes
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Unplug the machine and stop running it. Repeated current trips mean the condition behind them is persistent, and each further attempt puts the same surge through the module that reported it.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Leave the washer unplugged until it is diagnosed, because repeated excess current in the motor or its switching devices is a condition that gets worse with every attempt.
- The harness resistance figure differs by SmartDrive phase, so a reading compared against the wrong reference gives a confident wrong answer.
- Water reaching the module is both a cause and a hazard, and the leak has to be found rather than simply dried.
- A brass bridge terminal degraded by water can look intact while no longer conducting properly, which needs inspection rather than a meter alone.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
