What 1 Means
Fault 1 on the AquaSmart platform means the motor control module hit an error while writing to an EEPROM address - the small area of memory that holds settings which must survive a power cut. F&P's action for it is unambiguous: replace the motor control module.
Common Causes of 1
- A failed memory cell on the motor control module
- A power interruption during a settings write
- Age-related degradation of the module electronics
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Unplug the machine for five minutes and try again once. A genuine write error usually comes straight back, and confirming that saves a technician a step.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Unplug the machine before the module cover is opened, because the motor control module carries the mains supply as well as the low-voltage electronics.
- These machines are no longer sold in the United States, so a module has to be sourced by exact reference rather than picked from a current catalog.
- A module is a sealed assembly, not a board to repair part by part, so guessing at the problem means buying the whole thing twice.
- Modules are configured to the machine they are fitted to, and one installed without that step produces a fresh set of codes.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
