What 130 Means
Fault 130 means the motor control module has found an error in the pattern it receives from the rotor position sensor. On F&P's direct-drive design that sensor is how the module knows where the rotor is at every instant, and without a valid pattern the motor cannot be driven properly at all.
Common Causes of 130
- Corrosion on the sensor connectors
- A failed rotor position sensor
- A rotor fitted incorrectly during a previous repair
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Unplug and check whether the drum turns freely by hand. A drum that spins easily with a sensor problem tells a different story from one that binds, and it is a genuinely useful observation.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Unplug the washer before the rear of the drum is reached, because the stator directly behind it is a mains-fed part.
- F&P's procedure uses a dedicated rotor position sensor tester, and there is no reliable substitute for that check with an ordinary meter.
- A rotor refitted at the wrong position produces exactly this problem even with a perfect sensor, so previous repair history matters.
- The sensor sits where water finds it, and corrosion there can be mistaken for failure when a clean connection would have done.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
