What 70 Means
Fault 70 is the opposite baseline error to Fault 69: the transducer's empty-tub zero has come back too high. F&P again records the sensor as failing or damaged, with replacement of the transducer as the documented action.
Common Causes of 70
- A transducer zero reference that has drifted high
- A pinched or trapped pressure tube holding pressure
- Debris in the sensor port keeping the reading elevated
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Check that the pressure tube is not pinched anywhere behind the machine. A trapped tube holds residual pressure and can lift the zero reading without the sensor itself being to blame.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Unplug the washer before the tube or sensor is reached, because both sit with the module on the mains side.
- A high zero makes the machine think it has water when the tub is empty, so it may under-fill every cycle rather than refusing to run.
- Clearing a sensor port without the right approach pushes debris further in, where it becomes a module-level problem.
- Replacing a sensor when the tube was trapped is a repair that looks successful until the tube is disturbed again.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
