What F2 02 Means
F2 02 is the power board reporting that it does not support the model ID it has been given. F&P's remedy is to verify the correct model ID, try a power board with newer software if needed, and confirm the setting in technician mode once the oven is running again.
Common Causes of F2 02
- A power board with software that predates this model
- An incorrect model ID entered during a previous repair
- A board taken from a different model in the range
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Not an owner adjustment. If the oven has had a board fitted recently, that is almost certainly the context, and telling the technician that up front saves a diagnostic step.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Isolate the oven at the breaker first; the power board is the part of the appliance that switches full element current.
- Setting a model ID puts the oven onto a specific heating and lock profile, and the wrong one changes how the appliance behaves in ways that are not obvious until something goes wrong.
- Technician mode is entered through a documented sequence, and guessing at button combinations can change settings you did not intend to touch.
- Power boards are not interchangeable across the range even where they look identical, which is exactly the situation this code describes.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
