What F1 19 Means
F1 19 is listed among the clock board problems on F&P ranges with the check given rather than a problem name: check the connection between the encoders and the clock, and replace if needed. The encoders are the rotary controls you turn to set function and temperature, so this code concerns the input side of the panel.
Common Causes of F1 19
- A connector loose between an encoder and the clock board
- A worn or failed rotary encoder
- A damaged ribbon or harness inside the control panel
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Try a two-minute power-down at the breaker. Then note precisely which control misbehaves - a knob that does nothing, skips steps, or jumps backwards all describe different things and all are useful.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Switch the range off at the breaker before the fascia is opened, since the clock board assembly sits on the same mains-fed harness as the rest of the control area.
- Encoders are pressed onto shafts at a set depth, and one refitted too deep binds against the panel and wears out again quickly.
- Control panels on ranges are bonded and clipped rather than screwed, and levering one off leaves marks across the front that do not polish out.
- A ribbon connector re-seated slightly skewed gives intermittent input that is harder to diagnose than the original problem.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
