What 68 Means

Fault 68 is the first of four pressure transducer errors on this platform. The transducer converts air pressure from the tub into a frequency the module counts, and this code says that count has come back too high. F&P's documented action is to replace the pressure transducer.

Common Causes of 68

  • A pressure transducer that has failed or been damaged
  • Air pressure reaching the transducer that does not reflect the real level
  • Moisture drawn up the pressure tube into the sensor port

🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try

Unplug the machine and check the thin pressure tube from the bottom of the tub is properly attached and free of kinks. It will not fix a failed transducer, but a tube problem can produce readings that look like one.

⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That

  • Take the machine off supply before the sensing area is opened, since the transducer sits with the module on the mains side of the machine.
  • A transducer reporting wrongly and a tube delivering the wrong pressure look identical in the log, and only one needs a part.
  • Water that has reached the sensor port has to be cleared properly rather than blown back down the tube into the tub.
  • These are legacy machines in the United States, so a sensing part needs matching by reference rather than by eye.

Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.

FAQ

68 FAQ

It turns the air pressure at the bottom of the tub into an electrical signal the module can count, which is how the machine knows how much water is in the drum.

It may fill to the wrong level, or stop filling early, because the number it is working from no longer matches what is actually in the tub.
