What 105 Means
Fault 105 is a communications time-out between the display module and the motor control module. One has spoken and the other has not answered within the allowed window. F&P's action names either module as the replacement candidate, which is a clear signal that the problem has to be isolated rather than assumed.
Common Causes of 105
- A degraded connector on the harness between the two modules
- Moisture in the console affecting the communication line
- A module that has stopped responding
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Unplug for five minutes and restore power. A single lost exchange clears there; one that recurs on every start is a real break in the link.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Take the machine off supply before the console is opened, because the communication harness runs with the mains feed.
- The problem can sit at either end of the link, so replacing one module on a hunch has even odds of being the wrong one.
- Moisture in the console is a documented contributor on this family of machines, and drying it without finding the source only postpones the problem.
- Console housings seal against splashes, and one reassembled without that seal gives the next spill a clear path to the electronics.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
