What 113 Means
Fault 113 reports the AC pump thermistor as failing or damaged, specifically as a short circuit. That thermistor watches the pump drive for overheating, and F&P again directs the repair to the motor control module because the sensing lives there.
Common Causes of 113
- A shorted thermistor on the pump drive circuit
- Heat stress from a pump running against a restriction
- Moisture reaching the pump sensing circuit
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Before booking, check the drain path - hose kinks, a blocked pump filter, a standpipe that is too tight. A pump working against a restriction is what makes pump thermal protection matter in the first place.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Unplug the machine before the pump or module area is opened, since the pump runs from the mains side of the module.
- Clearing the drain path is worth doing, but it will not clear a shorted sensing circuit on its own.
- Tipping the machine to reach the pump spills whatever the tub is still holding onto the floor.
- Pump housings seal on gaskets that do not reseat reliably once disturbed, which is how a repaired washer starts weeping underneath.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
