What Fault 11 Means
Fault 11 is a combined measurement rather than a single part: the current drawn by the low ambient heater, the PC fan and the FC fan together has come in lower than expected. F&P points first at the six-way connector that feeds all three at the power module, then at re-terminating it, and only then at the module.
Common Causes of Fault 11
- A poor contact in the six-way connector serving the fans and heater
- A terminal backed out of that connector
- A failed power module output feeding the shared circuit
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Nothing to open up. What is worth reporting is whether more than one thing has gone quiet at once - a compartment fan you can no longer hear alongside uneven cooling suggests the shared connector rather than a single failed part.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Isolate the refrigerator at the outlet before the module cover comes off, because the same board switches mains to the compressor.
- Because this reading covers three parts at once, a technician measures the shared connector before condemning any individual fan or heater.
- Re-terminating a connector needs the correct crimp tool; a joint twisted together by hand passes a first test and fails as the cabinet warms and cools.
- Replacing one fan to cure a problem that lives in a shared connector leaves the other two parts still misreported.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
