What 112 Means
Fault 112 says the motor current sense circuit is failing - the part of the module that measures how much current the motor is drawing is itself reporting a value it should not. F&P's action is replacement of the motor control module.
Common Causes of 112
- A failed current sense circuit on the module
- Damage to the module's power stage
- An earlier motor problem that stressed the sensing circuit
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
One unplugged period of five minutes is worth trying. Beyond that the code concerns a measuring circuit inside a sealed module and there is nothing at the controls that reaches it.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Unplug the washer before any work near the module, since the current being sensed is the mains-level supply to the motor.
- Current sensing is how the module protects both itself and the motor, so running the machine with it unreliable is the wrong risk to take.
- A sensing circuit can fail because the motor drew genuinely excessive current, so the motor and its harness deserve checking before a module goes in.
- Module replacement on this platform includes a configuration step, and one skipped leaves the machine logging setup problems instead.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
