The E522 designation has been on Fisher & Paykel refrigerators for a long time, and the E522BRWFD5 is the current 32″ Series 5 version of it at 17.5 cu. ft. Owners are often surprised to find the letters still in the catalog after all this time; what has changed underneath is the control and the cooling, so an E522 from today and an E522 from fifteen years ago are related by name rather than by parts.
